Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Business Support Officer provides effective and efficient executive support to the Director, Custodial South. The role is performed from the Mary Wade Correctional Centre complex. A typical day in the Business Support Officer role is busy and diverse, performing a broad range of administrative support to the Director Custodial South, including, but not limited to; diary management, organising travel/itineraries, coordination of meetings and minute taking, following up on requests for information and ad-hoc reporting as requested. The role requires strong collaboration with the Assistant Commissioners Office, Directors, Governors, Managers of Security, and Human Resources. During operational activity, the role can switch from business-as-usual tasks, to providing critical support to the Director while scaling up for operational response. Having the ability to work in a busy work environment where operational activity can divert your attention to other/different critical tasks is important in this role.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have demonstrated experience in an executive support role providing high level assistance to an Executive Manager with a high level of confidentiality.
  • You can work collaboratively with regionally dispersed teams.
  • Possess a high level of initiative and professionalism with the ability to be agile in a dynamic environment.
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills and a demonstrated ability to liaise with all levels of management.
  • Proficient in using the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team and effectively build internal and external relationships with relevant stakeholders.
  • You have a valid Driver’s License
