Description:

SUMMARY

Gains in depth knowledge of all applicable systems and solutions relating to Category Management, syndicated data, space planning, data management and sales technology in order to provide analytic and systems support to the Sales/Customer Development teams. Formulates and defines systems scope and objectives. Conducts business process analyses, needs assessments, and preliminary cost/benefit analyses in an effort to align information technology solutions with business initiatives.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate.
  • Bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of sales, category management, or business systems analysis experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; or 6 years of sales, category management or business systems analysis experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Math, Engineering or Business Administration plus 1 year of sales experience at a District Manager level, Category Management, or business systems analysis experience to include document preparation.
  • Computer skill requirements include: Intermediate use of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access and MS PowerPoint.
  • Good communication and business writing skills.
  • Ability to solve practical problems, collect data, establish facts and deal with a variety of concrete variables.
  • Project management experience.
  • Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Math, Engineering or Business Administration plus 2 year of sales experience at a District Manager level, Category Management, business systems analysis experience reflecting increasing levels or responsibility to include document preparation.
  • Working knowledge of SQL query language and relational database design.
  • Experience reading, analyzing, and interpreting general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Experience writing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Experience effectively presenting information and responding to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Skilled at expressing complex system attributes in business-oriented terms.
  • Experience interfacing with broad technology areas and a range of business and functional requirements.
  • Experience defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions. Experience interpreting an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Experience performing work that is varied and may be somewhat difficult in character, usually involving limited responsibility, requiring frequent evaluation, originality or ingenuity.
  • Experience resolving conflict by creating a win-win situation.
  • Knows and applies the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of this particular field of specialization.

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provides data analysis and reporting to customers, including interpreting and disseminating results to customers.
  • Plays a primary role in educating users in the use of various sales data, syndicated data and data applications
  • Participates in the planning and coordination of team and customer activities.
  • Acquires thorough understanding of business areas supported to determine specific business requirements.
  • Conducts studies pertaining to the development of new data sources & information systems to meet current and projected business needs.
  • Analyzes user requirements, procedures, and problems to improve or create moderate to complex solutions.
  • Participates in the development of procedures to solve problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operation time, and form of desired results.
  • Analyzes processes to support both non-computerized and computerized work-flow, including recommending technologies that can enhance the effectiveness of the process.
  • Prepares project-phase plans and implementation schedules, plans and conducts meeting and workshops relative to these project plans, and coordinates project status reporting to management.
  • Reviews and defines work plans with minimal management review.
  • Applies current technology or researches and acquires new technical knowledge to complete moderate to complex projects and may advise others on current issues, and designs.
  • Participates in department and interdepartmental project teams and may work cross- functionally to improve processes within the organization.
  • Acts as a liaison with users and management.
  • Maintains satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.
