Here’s how a Business Systems Analyst for our Edmonton NAHQ office contributes to our team:

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Postsecondary degree or diploma in information management, information technology, business administration, computing science, or a related discipline.
  • Certification from Business Analyst Body of Knowledge (BABOK) or International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA), or equivalent preferred.
  • 3 years of progressive experience in a related field.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas and concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Strong ability to work effectively and collaboratively with employees at all levels and areas of the organization.
  • Ability to independently conduct effective meetings and give presentations in support of various projects and deliverables.
  • Experience with advanced system troubleshooting.
  • Experience with relational database, cloud computing, mobile application delivery, and data integration.

Responsibilities:

  • Documents and analyzes business requirements and ensures alignment with overall business processes.
  • Accountable for the overall functional solution design. This includes ensuring that the solution delivered by the vendor team meets business requirements and is maintainable.
  • Configuration of the COTS product to meet business requirements according to agreed solution requirements and design.
  • Documents and analyzes integration requirements and maintains integration development backlog.
  • Documents and analyzes data requirements and leads the business verification of data-conversion activities.
  • Prepares training data and conditions and creates and updates training materials, and delivers training as required.
  • Promotes adherence to processes and system best practices to maximize adoption and buy-in. Gathers and analyzes system-adoption data and metrics.
  • Identifies opportunities for improved utilization of existing business applications and processes and integrates business process improvements with system improvements to create wholistic and cost-optimized processes.
  • Defines and tracks metrics to measure project/solution success.
  • Reviews the final design of the system to ensure alignment with the requirements.
  • Analyzes business problems to identify solutions and makes recommendations for improvement.
  • Liaises with other teams and stakeholders to implement integrated cross-department processes.
