Responsibilities:

ROLE DESCRIPTION:

As Business Unit Director Climate Adaptation, you lead a multidisciplinary Business Unit (BU) with more than 80 employees and are responsible for implementing the local resilience strategy “Accelerate a Planet positive future.” Your leadership will significantly contribute to the development and strengthening of our business unit by ensuring that the strategy is effectively implemented to achieve the defined revenue and profit targets. Your role will be to lead a team focused on delivering excellent services while simultaneously pursuing organic profitable growth in line with our company goals. Your experience and commitment to the “Powered by our People” strategy will be crucial in building and leading a motivated and high-performing team.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

As Business Unit Director Climate Adaptation, you take over the leadership of the Business Unit with overall responsibility for:

  • Implementation of Strategy: Responsibility for the operational and financial performance of the Business Unit in line with Arcadis’ overall strategy and the goals of the Resilience Business Area for Germany. Actively driving Arcadis sustainability initiatives, supporting customers on their sustainability journey, and collaborating with our local and global experts to identify opportunities and solutions.
  • Optimization: Initiating, driving, and embedding necessary changes, especially regarding standardization, automation, and GEC integration.
  • Culture: Developing a customer-oriented and innovative culture to ensure that we achieve our customer experience goals; equality, diversity, and inclusion are at the forefront of our efforts, as well as an open feedback culture.
  • Leadership: Building high-performing teams, conveying visions and goals, motivating (engagement), and developing a diverse team of leaders. Coaching and mentoring talents, managing business change activities/processes; taking care of the well-being of employees and recognizing and celebrating successes.
  • P&L Responsibility: Responsibility for the operational and financial performance of the Business Unit in line with Arcadis’ overall strategy and the goals of the BA at the country level.
  • Networking: Leveraging a global network of expertise and relationships to strengthen cross-selling and promote purposeful growth to meet market and customer requirements. Part of the global Resilience leadership team; actively contributing to the exchange of knowledge and resources with other Arcadis countries.
  • Operational Business: Responsible for customer and key stakeholder interfaces in the project. Escalation point for project or customer issues. Quarterly participation in internal project reviews and participation in milestone reviews. Mentoring and support for project teams.
  • Customer Offer: Overview of the offering process and active participation in decisions regarding the submission or rejection of an offer, as well as keeping track of all customer offers and monitoring the pipeline for local and global customer projects.
