Description:

Are you a Master Butcher with a passion for leading a team? Freson Bros., an Alberta owned and operated fresh food retail chain, invites you to apply to our Meat Department as a Butcher Supervisor in High Prairie, Alberta.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2+ years of experience as a Butcher
  • Knowledge of different cuts and preparation of meat (beef, pork, poultry)
  • Comfortable working during peak grocery-retail hours (i.e. evenings, weekends, and holidays)
  • Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Warm and welcoming personality
  • Experience breaking down a beef carcass
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 100 pounds
    Most importantly, the willingness and enthusiasm for continuous learning and development.

Responsibilities:

  • Cut and package meat products
  • Stock and maintain shelves
  • Clean and sanitize work area
  • Cut beef carcasses, sides and quarters
  • Cut, trim, grind, weigh and prepare standard cuts of meat
  • Assist Meat Department Manager in Team Member training and inventory control
  • Prepare special orders as per customers request
  • Prepare sausages and smoked meats
  • Interact with customers to explain cuts of meat and potential recipes
