The role
As a Buyer, you’ll be responsible for ensuring ingredient availability for all products in your assigned Category, across all our Australian Distribution Centers, in the most optimum supply chain setup i.e. in a timely and efficient manner, while also minimising costs and mitigating risk. This role requires a high level of collaboration with multiple stakeholders, from our Suppliers, to our Strategic Procurement, Production, Menu Planning, Warehouse and Logistics teams.
We are looking for a very structured and driven individual willing to take on the challenge of continuously designing and improving end-to-end buying processes & tools to respond to the ever changing needs of the business.

What you’ll do

  • Own Supply Planning for your category, including planning meetings with suppliers, SOH management and PO placement
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in on time delivery, quality, or communication as needed
  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) and first point of contact for operational issues relating to products or suppliers in your Category
  • Regularly visit the production site and consistently communicate with our production teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Analyze purchasing data to ensure accuracy of information, purchasing procedures and identify any discrepancies, etc
  • Assemble and report on data relating to supplier performance, identifying improvement initiatives for your category
  • Assist wider category team with cost reporting and invoice validation

What you’ll bring

  • Ideally, some experience in procurement, operations or supply chain working in a comparable role
  • An organised approach to work and have the ability to think on your feet
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Good analytical skills, strong command of Excel/Google Sheets is a must
  • A “whatever it takes” mentality that drives you to find solutions quickly and whenever needed
  • Passion for food!
  • Proactive, confident in manner and are able to deal with a large and complex network of suppliers delivering a large quantity and variety of perishable ingredients.
  • Passionate about our business: a foodie or an operations and problem-solving zealot
