Job Description

As Buyer (m/f/d) - Resin, you will be mainly responsible for developing a sourcing strategy for dedicated products, agree changes with the key stakeholders in the organization and implement the strategy.

  • Perform market analysis and benchmarking to stay up to date with the trends and determine opportunities for change;
  • Identify internal needs and make sure that the supply base is ready to cover them;
  • Support analysis of defined material groups and current processes with target of defining best organisational structure and task split within Europe to improve value;
  • Lead / coordinate negotiations with defined suppliers on behalf of all European plants and assure contracts are in place;
  • Create and propose cost reduction ideas and monitor implementation working closely with suppliers, plants, engineering and other stakeholders;
  • Analyze carbon footprint status of supply base and drive emission reduction with the suppliers and internal functions to achieve carbon neutrality targets
  • Lead material and supplier selection process from RFQ, offer comparison and prepare the data to enable a sourcing decision;
  • Develop a sourcing strategy for dedicated material groups, agree the changes internally and push implementation within the organization
  • Monitor supplier risk and counter-measures, prepare emergency plans;
  • Monitor supplier performance, create and lead development plans., supplier partnership activities (SRM) and commodity workshops with key stakeholders;
  • Manage purchasing databases, monitor pricing developments, strengthen price transparency for materials, report preparation;
  • Initiate and lead projects aiming to raise efficiency of the job.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • An engineering degree is desirable however or a degree in economics with a good technical understanding or vocational training in a comparable field with several years of experience;
  • Preferably experience in raw materials purchasing;
  • Good knowledge of purchasing processes;
  • Strategic mind-set accompanied with analytical skills;
  • Ability to operate on own initiative whilst taking ownership of commodity;
  • Strong negotiation skills as well as organization & coordination skills;
  • Enjoy working in a multicultural team and members in other countries;
  • Very good MS Office skills;
  • Very good English and preferably German.
