WHAT TO EXPECT

Located in our Vesta Distribution Center, State of Mexico, we are seeking a Senior Buyer Planner to join our global team. This is an exciting opportunity for you to join a growing team and influence the way we operate. You will be responsible for using and maintaining ERP system(s). You will be responsible for the buying and planning assigned product lines for all Gates North America locations. This role will also be responsible to support processes continuous improvement for Planning and Purchasing in North America.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • This position requires a bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain or Operations Management and 5-7 years of purchasing and planning experience
  • In Depth Excel knowledge
  • Data analytics ability and experience with data heavy cultures
  • Prior experience with ERP/MRP/DRP systems, Oracle preferred
  • CSCP, CPIM Preferred
  • Solid Six Sigma Knowledge and experience
  • Fluent in English and Spanish

Responsibilities:

  • Inventory and Service Levels of assigned product lines for all North America Facilities supporting Revenue and Working Capital Goals
  • Lead resolution of schedule adherence, supplier on-time-delivery, quality, and price challenges (as applicable) by partnering & influencing cross functional teams and by developing, engaging, and leading performance for assigned Product lines
  • Follow and manage processes and work instructions standardized across the team and organization. Lead any Improvement Changes on those by following established guidelines.
  • Continuously look for process improvement and optimization
  • Schedules and coordinates supply requirements (manufactured or purchased) from supply base (Manufacturing plants, 3rd party suppliers or affiliate plants) and manages working capital / inventory
  • Lead root cause analysis to address service level or inventory variances from management plan and develop, initiate, and monitor corrective actions
  • Manage projects to introduce new products, new suppliers, and new system functionality
  • Knowledge and understanding of production, purchasing, and inventory planning and strong analytical data processing experience
  • Experience in root cause & corrective action activities in a fast-paced culture
  • Prior experience in a high SKU count environment preferred
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, high level of forward reaction response required
  • Working knowledge of project management principals and practice
  • Working knowledge of laws and regulations relating to procurement contracts and SOX compliance
  • Strong team player: proactively able to support other team members as needed and share knowledge to allow cross training of all key functions; builds collaborative relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and proven ability to facilitate collaboration in cross regional and multi-cultural teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a team including target setting, measuring to performance, driving continuous improvement culture
  • Advanced computer skills are required. You must have a minimum of high-level Microsoft excel knowledge.
  • Ability to Travel up to 10% of the time.
