Acts as an agent of Monument Health in the facilitation of the procurement process including: purchasing, contracting, vendor selection, specification and or market research, inventory management and analysis, contract compliance, and managing the disposition of supplies and equipment. Provides the right product or service at the right price, in the right quantity, at the right place, at the right time and appropriate quality.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Essential Functions:

  • Assures that purchase orders are accurate; pricing, availability meets department needs; terms and conditions are appropriate; and available contracts have been utilized.
  • Assures that shipment paperwork and instructions are complete and the deliveries occur as required.
  • Communicates with requesting departments regarding the status of requisitions including special problems.
  • Communicates contract obligations to using departments. Plans and executes initiatives to achieve compliance as required.
  • Communicates with vendors to facilitate orders processing. Negotiates and/or establishes all terms and conditions relating to each purchase contract and/or transaction.
  • Compiles product information, pricing, catalogs, etc. and makes them available to requesting departments.
  • Coordinates the disposition of outmodes, surplus supplies and equipment as required in areas of responsibility.
  • Develops and maintains professional knowledge necessary to perform the purchasing Buyer functions.
  • Reconciles unapproved invoices with the necessary action, initiation of credits, confirmation of deliveries and adjustment of pricing.
  • All other duties as assigned.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Required:
Education - High School Diploma/GED Equivalent in General Studies
Preferred:
Experience - 1+ years of Inventory Management Experience; 1+ years of Materials Management/Warehouse Distribution Experience; 1+ years of Procurement/Buyer Experience
Physical Requirements:
Sedentary work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
