QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in planning/purchasing within the manufacturing industry
  • Post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Operations, or Inventory Management
  • Certificate in purchasing from the Purchasing Management Association of Canada is considered an asset
  • Experience procuring electromechanical parts is considered an asset

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Strong analytical, organizational and planning skills
  • High proficiency with MS Office suite
  • Experience using MRP and Excel spreadsheets within a Supply Chain environment
  • Works well unsupervised and as part of a team
  • Possesses a positive attitude and is a team player
  • Ability to adapt easily to change
  • Professional communication skills (verbal and written)
    Location: On-site at our Vancouver, BC office
    Work Hours: 8:30am to 5pm, Monday to Friday (40 hours/week)

Responsibilities:

  • Source parts, goods and services from various vendors and subcontractors
  • Execute Purchase Orders based on MRP to meet sales and production requirements
  • Request quotations, evaluate and recommend vendors, award purchase orders
  • Establish delivery schedules, expedite orders and monitor progress and contact suppliers to resolve problems
  • Assist with issues relating to non-conforming materials, invoicing and/or delivery, arrange RMA’s and follow up on returns and credits
  • Actively seek cost savings and contributing to the overall cost savings goals
  • Develop and maintain supplier relationships, acting as an interface between suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Manage the Kanban system for consumable items to determine purchase requirements
  • Work with engineering to obtain drawings, specifications or to discuss alternative part options
  • Monitor and maintain supplier performance and communicate results
  • Maintain spreadsheets and data integrity in accordance with purchasing guidelines and best practices
