This position is for structural and mechanical drafting in a consulting engineering firm serving industrial clients. You will participate in the design of a wide variety of systems and structures for a range of different industrial processes and industries.

Requirements:

  • Drafting Technical Certificate from an accredited institution, Drafting Apprenticeship Certificate, or equal experience or equivalent
  • Ability to use Autodesk AutoCAD in 2D and 3D
  • Ability to use MS Office products or equivalent
  • Organizational skills
  • Teamwork mentality and ability to coordinate/consult with coworkers to meet objectives
  • Eager to learn, grow, and participate in an open book management company

Preferred Skills:

  • Create 3D models of areas and display them on drawings
  • Create 2D details and sections
  • Check drawings for errors, standards and completeness
  • Perform mathematical calculations for geometric relations in designs (by hand or in Excel)
  • Experience with mechanical engineering drawings: piping, conveyors, shakers, screens, mills, power transmission, pumps, dust collection, HVAC and other material handling
  • Experience with civil/structural engineering drawings: structural steel, site, concrete, excavation, and environmental
  • Working knowledge of one or more: Plant 3D, Navisworks, Recap, Advanced Steel, SolidWorks, Revit

Highly Preferred Skills:

  • 5 or more years using AutoCAD in 3D for Industrial applications
  • SolidWorks user certification
  • Plant 3D Experience with Pipe modeling and P&IDs
  • Prior experience as a designer for fabrication or machine design
  • Experience programming in Visual Basic
  • Review and analyze specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas, and related data to resolve design issues.
