Description:
RAM is a technical consultancy providing Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering and Advisory services across Canada. RAM is searching for a motivated and experienced individual in Vancouver, BC. The successful candidate will be an individual that enjoys a challenging, professional, and dynamic workplace and contributing to the success of a hardworking team.
RAM Geotechnical Engineering, a division of RAM Consulting, is a geotechnical engineering company based in North Vancouver that provides engineering analyses, construction field review, and materials testing, predominantly in the Lower Mainland.
The drafting department currently has an opening for a Junior CAD Drafting Technician.
IDEAL CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- The ability to think and visualize in 3D.
- Tech-savviness.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, including plotting, customizing, and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency with metric and Imperial engineering scales.
- Proficiency with common office files, including PDFs and spreadsheets.
- Experience in the field of drafting (a minimum of 2 years is preferred).
- Familiarity with the engineering/construction industry.
- Adaptability, and an aptitude to enjoy working with a team.
- Easy access to the Horizon Engineering office (e.g. reside in North Vancouver or a neighbouring municipality).

Responsibilities:
- Using AutoCAD LT to create construction drawings and figures for reports and presentations, e.g. plans, elevations, sections, and details related to geotechnical engineering and earthworks construction, including excavations, fills, slopes, retaining walls, foundations, stormwater management, sediment control, excavation shoring, groundwater, and soil stratigraphy.
- Working with engineers and other support staff in a team environment.
- Managing files and coordinating the receipt and issuing of drawings.
- Collecting and interpreting drawings and information provided by others, including architectural, engineering (e.g. structural, civil, mechanical), survey and utility drawings, and GIS systems.
- Field work, including site reconnaissance and taking field measurements.
