QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5-10 years of experience of electrical experience;
  • Demonstrated expert knowledge and proficiency with AutoCAD;
  • Good to have Revit experience but not required.
  • Experience in the construction industry an asset. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in electrical projects associated with buildings;
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and various other construction documentation;
  • Ability to quickly absorb and use company-specific techniques, standards and procedures;
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel skills;
  • Detail-oriented with excellent communication, grammar and punctuation skills;
  • Ability to work within a team environment;
  • Organized and able to prioritize various tasks and have a flexible approach to assignments; and
  • Willingness to meet quick deadlines and handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a CAD Technician to join our Vancouver team. Responsibilities include drafting (in AutoCAD) electrical systems for building and construction projects. The qualified candidate will have a strong understanding of drafting concepts. Working conditions are in-office from 8:00am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Work under the direction of Senior CAD Tech to develop construction document packages in AutoCAD;
  • Provide support for plotting electrical drawing packages;
  • Implement AutoCAD standards;
  • Create, document and communicate best practices for Building Information Modeling (BIM) from engineer mark-ups;
  • Ensure proper documentation of all work, products, and relevant activities; and
  • Other duties assigned as necessary.
