Calibration Technician

We are currently recruiting for a Calibration technician in an 18 month contract role to support our engineering department in Cork. The main responsibility of this role is the calibration of equipment and management of equipment/artifact recertification.

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Performing equipment calibrations within clearly defined SOPs.
  • Assist in drafting / updating Calibration SOPs.
  • Assist wider Engineering team with assessment / determination of calibration equipment for new equipment/processes.
  • Engage with Contractors and arrange site visits to complete equipment calibration.
  • Engaging with production/engineering for availability of equipment to be calibrated.
  • Complete procurement tasks related to equipment purchasing or recertification/calibration.
  • Creates / updates MDTs as required for setup / update of calibration records.
  • Investigates deviations related to calibration equipment.
  • Ensure continual Quality System compliance by adherence to established and evolving Alcon QS requirements.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • A minimum Level 7 qualification in an Engineering or Technical discipline
  • Strong technical ability and calibration experience would be preferred
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of ISO, FDA, GMP standards.
