Description:

CAMHS Practitioner - Schools CAMH Access Service, Band 6 - 1.0 WTE Permanent (Nurse, Family Therapist, Psychologist, Social Worker, Child Psychotherapist, CBT Therapist, or Experienced EMHP/CWP).
The CAMH Schools Community Access Service (SCAS) is a relatively new team that already has strong ethos of improving the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people in the community. The SCAS Team is part of the Central Bedfordshire Integrated Schools Pathway, which also includes the Mental Health Support Teams that work with schools across the locality.
Please note that due to the high unmet SEND need in Central Bedfordshire, we are particularly interested in hearing from candidates who have experience and passion in this field.
The post holder will be joining SCAS as a CAMHS practitioner. The team will be focusing on promoting well-being in communities in Central Bedfordshire, by improving their resilience, using a co-productive and relational approach to mental health. Working alongside community partners and other stakeholders, including citizen stakeholders, the SCAS will be fully integrated with their locality specialist community CAMHS in a stepped model of care, and the educational settings they work with.
You will have access to clinical supervision and line management and there are regular opportunities for staff to apply for appropriate internal and external training courses. The Trust is committed to staff wellbeing and there are many initiatives to support this
You will be required to be flexible, and be a car user as you will be required to travel across Central Bedfordshire to deliver training and attend meetings. The post is embedded across schools, and you will have an attached base in Dunstable CAMHS. Dunstable is close to the M1 and is easily accessible by car (there is also free parking) from North London, Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire.
You will need a relevant professional qualification, with excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. You will need experience in working with children and families, preferably in a school setting. You will need to be able to operate confidently in an environment where IT is the main method of record keeping, communication and program management.
