Description:

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL BE A REGISTERED NURSE, OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST OR SOCIAL WORKER WITH EXPERIENCE WORKING WITH PEOPLE WHO MAY BE FACING MILD TO SEVERE MENTAL HEALTH CONCERNS.

To be successful in this role, you will have the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Social Work or similar field e.g. allied health
  • Current membership of a relevant professional body
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience working with or providing mental health support to students or young adults
  • Demonstrable understanding and experience of case management and its application to support servicesPreferred:
  • Experience working or volunteering in a tertiary environment and an understanding of student needs
  • Knowledge or awareness of the issues affecting tertiary students and young adults
  • Cultural competence in working with the diversity of the student population
  • Proficiency in Te Reo or Mandarin would be valued

Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Triaging and managing queries and referrals from students, staff or any member of the University community in person or via phone, email or the online form
  • Conducting psychosocial assessments and risk assessments and refer critical situations in a professional and responsive manner
  • Coordinating communication with those involved, including the person who raised the concern, the student/s and other parties as appropriate
  • Linking students to the appropriate support, from internal self-help information to external specialist services, and document advice in a support plan
    We currently have two opportunities available:
    The first role is a full-time (37.5 hours per week), permanent position.
    The second role is a part-time (30 hours per week), permanent position.
    Remuneration is $80,900 - $99,900 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
