Description:

The Cancer Services department at Frimley Park Hospital, Frimley Health, is a busy service comprised of Tumour Site Specific Multi-Disciplinary Teams.
We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated individual to join our Cancer Services Team as a Cancer Pathway Administrator.
The successful applicant will be a person that embodies the Trust Values and has the competencies to fulfil this important role which requires supporting our the Cancer MDT co-ordinators with the monitoring of patients following referral under the Two Week Rule (fast-track system for suspected cancer) to ensure that patients are seen and investigated/diagnosed within agreed parameters, and provide clerical and administrative support to the MDT Co-ordinators, ensuring that Trust standards are adhered to in relation to all documentation and data input.
You will need experience of working within a busy and demanding team, to be able to demonstrate data input and the ability to give excellent attention to detail. The successful candidate will have NHS experience along with excellent IT, communication, interpersonal skills and the ability to prioritise and organise their work with minimal supervision. They will have an understanding of Cancer Waiting Times, specifically around the Two Week Wait target, but also about the 28-day Faster Diagnosis, 31 day and 62-day targets.
To provide clerical and administrative support to the Cancer MDT Coordinators, ensuring that Trust standards are adhered to in relation to all documentation and data input.
To support the Cancer MDT co-ordinators with the monitoring of patients following referral under the Two Week Rule (fast-track system for suspected cancer) to ensure that patients are seen and investigated/diagnosed within agreed parameters.
To be responsible for ensuring patients are seen and diagnosed within agreed parameters, and to alert the Cancer MDT Co-ordinator and the Cancer Performance Manager when problems and delays arise.
To ensure that high quality data is recorded into the Trust’s Cancer database (Somerset Cancer Register) and that all items are collected for Cancer Waiting Times and National Cancer Datasets. E.g. COSD and CWT.

To plan and organise own work schedule with the use of appropriate planning aids, demonstrating good time management and ensuring anticipated difficulties in meeting deadlines are promptly reported.
To develop and maintain effective working relationships with other staff in the departments and the Trust, ensuring that a professional and seamless service is provided.
To communicate sensitive information appropriately as per the Trust policies.
Have an understanding and experience of the issues surrounding data protection, sourcing and collection.
To ensure confidentiality and security of data in accordance with organisational requirements, and in line with the Data Protection Act.
Any other task appropriate to the grade, as designated by the Cancer Management team
