Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Manager of Capital and Asset Renewal, the Capital and Renewal Supervisor is tasked with overseeing Capital and Renewal improvement projects.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Degree or Advanced College Diploma in Architecture, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent.
4-5 years of experience in construction project management.
Proven leadership experience in a unionized environment.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

Profound knowledge of project management, Building Codes, Health and Safety Legislation, and Ministry of Labour Standards.
Excellent customer service skills.
Proficiency in eBase Project Manager or other computerized project management systems.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
Highly organized and detail-oriented.
Capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently and within deadlines.
Strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities:

Plan, implement, and oversee capital improvement projects including roofing, mechanical, electrical, structural elements, and new school constructions.
Ensure compliance with regulatory codes, fire inspections, and municipal by-laws across Board sites; develop and implement maintenance guidelines and procedures.
Assist and provide consultancy for the Request for Proposals process by evaluating potential service providers for various projects and service contracts.
Consult with principals on school enhancement requests, providing guidance on scope, specifications, and contractor selection.
Manage both new and existing capital projects, ensuring the confidentiality of information and adherence to Board guidelines and procedures.
Coordinate technology-related work, including WAN and LAN, with BAS and HVAC contractors.
Respond to emergency calls as needed and participate in the 24-hour on-call security schedule for seven days at a time.
