POSITION DESCRIPTION

Seattle City Light, a department of the City of Seattle, is one of the nation’s largest municipally owned utilities in terms of the number of customers served. Over the years we have worked very hard to keep Seattle’s electricity affordable, reliable, and environmentally sound. Today, City Light is a recognized national leader in energy efficiency and environmental stewardship.
The Project Delivery Division is looking for a Capital Project Coordinator. Project Managers on our team have an opportunity to work on a wide variety of very unique projects at our City-owned dams, hydro-power plants and associated support buildings/town sites. In addition, Project mangers may have an opportunity to work on customer driven, internal and external strategic capital projects and other critical high visibility infrastructure, electrification and transportation driven projects throughout City Light Service Territory. As part of managing these projects, we spend time in some of the most beautiful areas of the state – the Cedar Falls Watershed, North Cascades National Park, Ross Lake National Recreation Area, and the Selkirk Mountains of Pend Oreille County. The projects can range from powerhouse major equipment upgrades, to civil infrastructure improvements, seismic upgrades, residential building restoration and rockslide stabilization. Many projects are one-of-a kind and require creative approaches to project management as well as a desire to learn something new with each project. We rely on both internal and external resources for design and construction as well as consultants, vendors and contractors.
This position reports to the Generation Capital Improvement Program Manager.
