Description:

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Development and management of major and/or minor building works projects ideally in a heritage building context.
  • Commonwealth procurement and contract management requirements.

Responsibilities:

We are seeking to fill a EL1 Project Manager, Capital Works role in the Library’s Capital Works team who will be a key contributor to the on time and on budget delivery of building works projects as part of Library’s built infrastructure program.
The built infrastructure program is multi-year series of upgrade and redevelopment projects aimed to remediate and maintain the integrity of the iconic heritage listed Parkes building. Projects also focus on improving building performance, maintaining heritage character and enhancing compliance with safety and building codes. The Library is also currently scoping a new building master plan that will determine works priorities for the next 10 – 15 years.

As the Project Manager, Capital Works role you will work with a considerable degree of independence, under broad direction and be responsible for elements of:

  • development, delivery, management of risk, and reporting on project and contract management performance as determined by the Library’s built infrastructure plans, Building Master Plan, Collection Storage Master Plan, Heritage Strategy, Conservation Management Plan, and Strategic Asset Management Plan.
  • management of all aspects of allocated major and minor building works, office fit out and refurbishment, and/or safety and compliance projects – plans, budget and resource usage, design, procurement, contract and contractor management, risk management and reporting, project performance and reporting.
  • procurement and contract management arrangements for relocations, leasing and/or building related management services.
