RELEVANT EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least three years of professional experience required, with demonstrated ability in project/data management, business administration, or related field
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong interest in the environment, the carbon market, and helping the rural poor in less developed countries in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals
  • Experience with Carbon Registries or the broader carbon market is an asset

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

The Carbon Assets Associate will report to the Director of Carbon Asset Management and help compile, track, and manage carbon project data within CQC’s portfolio and across various Carbon Registries (Verra, Gold Standard, etc.). This will involve working closely with our Carbon Accounting Team to maintain the ‘source of truth’ on project data and ensure the smooth flow of projects through the pipeline. The role will also support all administrative activities surrounding the Carbon Registries such as preparing required Registry documents, submitting final project packages, and liaising with Registry staff for project status updates. The successful candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and highly organized with excellent communication skills and demonstrated experience in project/data management or a related field. This position offers the opportunity to learn a great deal about the carbon market and contribute to the effective delivery of high-value mitigation outcomes.
Location: Remote, USA (ET/CT) or London UK (GMT) highly preferred

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in compiling data and tracking progress for all carbon projects across the portfolio in part by working closely with our Carbon Accounting Team currently based in India
  • Flag any project concerns/delays and closely monitor estimated issuance dates and Registry deadlines
  • Synthesize project information into tables and data sets for regular reporting to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Work collaboratively to help fortify and streamline internal business processes across departments to optimize project workflow and carbon asset delivery
  • Support all Carbon Registry-related business functions including Registry documentation preparation, submission of final project packages to the Registries, and interfacing regularly with Registry staff
  • Ensure all relevant parties receive communication on major project milestones and any Registry-related project updates that may require further action (i.e., findings from the Registry on project reviews)
  • Maintain an organized internal database of all project documentation submitted to the Registries
  • Compile and circulate weekly research on Registries/industry-related organizations (Verra, GS, IETA, CCA, ICVCM, etc.) containing news, updates, and upcoming events
  • Prioritize project workflows based on importance/urgency
