A typical day at Michelin.
Working on a fixed 8-hour shift pattern of 05:45 – 13:45 / 13:45 – 21:45, your main responsibility will be to assess the suitability of worn tyres for our process, ensuring that we produce a high quality and safe product. You will have ownership of your work area and ensure the process runs in an optimal way to achieve your performance targets and quality requirements.

Working at the beginning of our process, you will be responsible for:

  • Examination of heavyweight worn tyres to assess suitability for re-treading.
  • Learning and applying technical information and methods.
  • Adhering to high safety standards to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Coming to work with a continuous improvement mind-set.
  • Being adaptable and flexible.As you may be required to work in different areas of the department and plant and occasionally at weekends in busy periods.
  • Provide a working style which actively involves and motivates.

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • A logical approach to your work and be able to follow processes ensuring compliance in safety, quality, cost and delivery.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to retain information.
  • A can-do attitude, flexibility and team focus.
  • Ability to work on your own and as part of the team
  • A willingness to continually learn and grow in the company.
  • Basic IT skills.
  • Forklift licence is desirable, but not essential.
  • Experience in a manufacturing setting is desirable, but not essential as full training will be given.
