We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual at Band 5 level to support the provision of a high quality service. A team player is essential for this role. The successful applicant will be encouraged to develop within a specialist field, with a view to rotational training in Echo and Heart Rhythm Management.
The successful applicant will possess (or working towards) a BSc in Clinical Physiology in addition to working towards or holding a RCCP/AHCS registration.
The Department offers a wide range of invasive and non-invasive investigations and therapies. These include, 2D/3D Transthoracic and Transoesophageal Echocardiography, DSE, Dysynchrony Studies, Physiologist led and Medically supervised Exercise Tolerance testing, RACPC, HUTT, Ambulatory ECG and BP monitoring and 7 day event recorders, Myocardial Perfusion Imaging, Pacemaker and complex device implant, (including follow-up), and Cardiac Catheterisation running from 2 Cardiac Catheter laboratories.
The Department also offers a Physiologist led Valve clinic, PCI angioplasty and GP Community Cardiology services. Future plans for the service include the development of a Physiologist led Stress Echocardiography Service, and an ICD/CRT device implanting service. There maybe a commitment to on-call in the future.
The post holder will be progressing towards the position of independent practitioner, working on their own initiative on an ongoing basis to cover their own patient workloads. They will follow Health Board, Occupational and Professional guidelines and will contribute to the development of departmental procedures and services within their specialist area. There will be direct supervision and referral to the departmental manager in matters relating to patient safety or in complex non-clinical issues may be necessary. Performance and objectives will be reviewed by the
departmental manager at annual appraisal.
