Description:
We are looking for a highly motivated Specialist Cardiac Specialist Cardiac Physiologist or Clinical Scientist to join our busy department. Working with eight Cardiologists and five Respiratory Physicians the department provides a wide range of complex cardiac and respiratory investigations including Cardiac Catheterisation, PCI, Pacemaker and AICD implant and follow up, Cardiac and Metabolic stress testing, Transthoracic, Trans-oesophageal and Stress Echocardiography. We are part way through the implementation of a large dedicated IT system which will pull together all the clinical and administrative systems across the department. We are also planning new scientist led services such as ILR implantation.

We are currently supporting staff to undertake MSc level qualifications as well as providing mentorship and support to those applying for registration as a Clinical Scientist. We have a dedicated training budget which allows staff to be supported to attend national and international educational events.
You should have experience of working as a qualified cardiac professional and hold either HCPC, AHCS or RCCP registration. You should also hold BHRS or IBHRE accreditation as a minimum, although consideration will be given to those who are part way through the accreditation process.
We will also consider applications from those expected to graduate within the next 4 months with BSc Healthcare Science (Cardiac). Agenda for Change Annex 21 will apply in this circumstance.
If further training is required then the majority will be delivered in-house by the established team of specialists, but some access to approved external training courses will be available. The post holder will be expected to work as an independent practitioner performing specialist procedures on a wide range of patients.
There is an on-call commitment for urgent ICD management.
