Description:
This is an exciting new post within Bradford Teaching Hospitals as part of our clinical research team. This is a great opportunity for expanding knowledge and experience of clinical research in the Trust, initially with a focus on Cardiology and Diabetes.
The post holder will work jointly within the Diabetes and Cardiology research teams, with the potential to support others across the Trust, and be responsible for the co-ordination and support of clinical research trial portfolios as required. This will facilitate the production of high quality clinically based research aimed at improving the treatment of patients in Bradford.
They will work with the Consultants across the different specialties to assist with existing clinical trials and to develop new clinical trial portfolios when required.

The post involves working closely with multidisciplinary teams and will involve the recruitment and the collection and documentation of accurate data throughout the patient’s participation in the trial. As a research nurse you will be responsible for direct and indirect care, assessing and managing the care pathways of patients and carers, educating and supporting them and acting as their advocate at all times
The role will involve raising the profile of research and focusing on increasing the recruitment of patients into clinical trials on time and target. This in line with the objectives of the Department of Health, National Institute for Health Research, through the Clinical Research Network; Yorkshire and Humber, research sponsors and funders
