JOB SUMMARY

Graduates of the Faculty of Management (FoM) are leaders and managers in the business sector, public sector, and civil society who live the Faculty’s vision of managing for the betterment of society. The Faculty has been recognized for its innovative, values-based approach to management education and research. Management Career Services (MCS) provides work-integrated learning opportunities and career education for Corporate Residency MBA, Bachelor of Commerce Co-op, and Bachelor of Management programs students. Reporting to the Student Development Manager, the Career and Recruitment Specialist will educate and engage students in career development through individual consultation, group facilitated learning, coordination of special events, provision of information, and connections to potential employers.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Undergraduate degree in a related discipline, plus approximately five years of related experience in student services, student advising, career and employment services, coaching, mentoring, or work-integrated learning (or equivalent combination of training and experience).
  • The ability to engage stakeholders in initiatives to generate participation, necessitating the ability to communicate and develop relationships at all levels of external organizations.
  • Excellent human relations, customer service and written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience in the development and facilitation of workshops and presentations.
  • The ability to communicate with and understand the needs of a diverse student population.

Responsibilities:

  • Consult on an individual basis with students to assist in the development of their career development action plans.
  • Manage all activities related to work terms for students and employers in the Faculty of Management, such as Bachelor of Commerce Work Terms, MBA Corporate Residencies, and Bachelor of Management Internships.
  • Identify, connect with, develop and enhance relationships with employers, alumni and external associations to achieve a strong engagement with the Faculty of Management.
  • Manage and coordinate various assigned events, enhancing alumni connections and promoting all Faculty of Management programs to employers.
  • Participate in the facilitation of group learning activities.
