SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of academic research methods and curriculum design principles.
- Skills using social media in a professional setting (e.g. Instagram, LinkedIn).
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, alumni, employers and colleagues.
- Attention to detail and organization skills.
- Ability to time-manage and prioritize multiple tasks efficiently.
- Familiarity with office software (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite).
- Ability to learn and use new technologies related to event management (e.g. Symplicity).
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Related diploma or degree (e.g. Communications, Education, Business).
- 3-5 years professional experience in a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in program and event management.
- Equivalencies may be considered.
Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services or the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS).
Remuneration: $61,997.52 - $83,085.08 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits package. (Classification – Coordinator I).
This position is covered by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) Collective Agreement.
Responsibilities:
- Works collaboratively with others to plan, implement, promote, and evaluate new and existing career education programs, services, and events.
- Assist in the development and delivery of educational workshops.
- Research, design, and maintain supportive educational materials, including online career resources, department web pages, instructional materials, and workshop resources.
- In collaboration with the Supervisor, develops an awareness and promotion strategy for department services, programs, and events, including creating and implementing social media plans, to recruit participants for programming.
- Plans and implements career education-focused social media campaigns.
- Creates and disseminates department newsletters and other communications.
- Develops assessment and evaluation activities to ensure objectives are met and continuous improvements are made to activities and processes.
- Perform administrative tasks such as setting up event registrations on Ooks Life, attending meetings, generating meeting notes, file management, front desk coverage, etc.
