Description:
JOB DESCRIPTION
The successful candidate will be part of SIA’s Cargo Division, Key Accounts & Verticals Department. He/She is responsible for building strong relationships with key shippers, as well as developing existing and new business opportunities within the industry verticals (e.g. healthcare, perishables, live animals, aerospace, events, etc.). Each Key Account Manager will be leading a few industry verticals.
REQUIREMENTS
- Degree, preferably with cargo/air freight/logistics experience or business development experience
- Proficient with digital tools especially Microsoft Office
- Strong business acumen & tenacity
- Good analytical skills
- Independent and self-starter with good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage and negotiate with senior level executives
- Confident and has the ability to communicate and relate with people of diverse background
- Team player and able to motivate subordinates

Responsibilities:
- Regularly engage key shippers on their business demands and requirements as well as keeping tabs on the significant developments of their respective industry. Grow airfreight business with key shippers by leveraging on customised commercial agreements such as Block Space Agreements and Incentive Programs
- Understand the specific operational requirements of industry verticals so as to market customised SIA Cargo’s operational handling capabilities and quality assurance programs such as the THRUCOOL® and THRUFRESH® programs for pharmaceutical and perishable shipments respectively. Market these programs in various overseas markets to potential shippers and freight forwarding agents via EDMs (Electronic Direct Mail), seminars and events
- Prospect new shippers via public reports or overseas sales stations’ feedback and initiate contact with these shippers for business opportunities
- Propose new industry verticals to target by monitoring market trends via public reports as well as data analytics using internal tools
- Key liaison for key shippers in resolving planned operational disruptions such as flight schedule changes as well as unplanned disruptions such as offloading, temperature excursions, etc
- Prepare presentations and reports for internal briefings and meetings
- Develop new verticals products and manage projects as required
