Jardeg is currently seeking a Carpenter Journeyperson to join the SUNCOR Firebag project team on site near Fort McMurray, Alberta. This is a temporary position on a 6 days on, 1 day off shift schedule ending approximately in April 30, 2024.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Preference will be given to a Journeyperson Carpenter Ticket from a recognized provincial training authority or be a Registered Carpenter Apprentice
- Non-ticketed carpenters must provide proof of hours relevant to the industrial Carpentry trade
- Fall Protection and Confined Space is an asset
- Ability to coach, mentor and train apprentices
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Describe and point out safety compliance and regulatory issues
Certifications Requirements:
- Journeyperson Ticket
- Common Safety Orientation
Responsibilities:
- Be able to comprehend blueprint readings and prepare layouts
- Understand industrial concrete forming, be able to build concrete forms, and other structures
- Complete finishing and rough carpentry tasks, while utilizing appropriate math skills
- Check completed units to be sure they are level, square, plumb and the right size, shape and location
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Experience working with mold and bed bug infestations.
- Knowledge in the PPE requirements and work standards for this type of work will be required.
- Dismantle and reassember camp rooms.
