Job Introduction Job introduction The CSG Complex Injury team is looking for a Case Administrator to join the team. You will provide admin support to lawyers in the team in running complex and catastrophic injury files of a high value and importance to our clients.
The Complex Injury team works on behalf of insurance companies and corporates, investigating and resolving high value personal injury compensation claims. This is an exciting time to join as you will be part of a new and expanding team.
CSG advises insurers and corporate clients in their defence of claims of all values, types and complexity. Our National team whose clients are a mix of leading names in the insurance industry as well as household name corporates, deal with all aspects of defendant litigation, including complex and catastrophic injury. Increasingly, the team is getting involved in pre-emptive advice on these issues as well as dispute resolution.
Who you will be working withThe Complex Injury team is made of up of 80 colleagues situated all across the UK. Our new colleague would be able to work remotely but will be expected to travel to Birmingham / Newport for team events on an occasional basis.

What you will do

  • To assist with the running of files to ensure deadlines are met and cases managed proactively to conclusion
  • Ensure work is carried out effectively to meet the needs of the clients and the commercial requirements of the firm.
  • Assisting with the set-up of new files in the case management system
  • Diarising Court directions
  • Updating CRU certificates
  • Obtaining and chasing medical records
  • Submitting payment requests
  • Chasing orders and settlement cheques
  • Liaising with Courts, Opponent Solicitors and other Third Parties
  • Completing basic legal forms
  • Organising and preparing for Counsel instructions
  • Other administrative duties, as required

Who you are You might be a recent graduate with experience in administration, have worked as an administrator in the past and want a new challenge in the legal sector or have an interest in getting into an administrative role.

  • Excellent communication skills with a positive and enthusiastic approach to your work
  • Ability to work on own initiative without close supervision
  • A co-operative team player who is able to work effectively within a pressurised environment and to tight deadlines
  • Organised and able to prioritise and manage a constantly changing workload
  • Able to make decisions within own areas of responsibility
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • IT literate
  • Good telephone manner
  • Administration experience or practical experience of file management (preferred)
  • Experience of using a case management (preferred)
  • Experience of finance systems (preferred)
  • Demonstrates alignment with the Firm’s Cultural Principles (Clear, Creative, Determined and Supportive).
