Qualifications:
- Post-Secondary degree/diploma in a related human services field
- 5 years’ experience in a human services agency performing similar duties preferred.
- Understanding of and commitment to the Agency’s client centric approach
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License and willingness to transport children
- Strong clinical and assessment skills
- Ability to establish rapport, credibility and build strong relationships with clients and colleagues
- Strong coordination and planning skills
- Interpersonal skills, tact and diplomacy and the ability to work with a variety of styles and to appreciate diversity
- Flexibility and ability to respond to changing circumstances and organizational needs
- Demonstrated negotiation skills in client and system advocacy systems
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and provide mentorship to colleagues as requested and assigned.
- Strong organization skill
Responsibilities:
Case Aide – Child Protection provides critical support to individuals and families receiving child welfare services through direct service and advocacy work. This position will provide hands-on support to child welfare clients as they work towards service plan goals and promote positive parent-child relationships
Responsibilities:
- Deliver supportive services including referrals to internal and community resources
- Formulate and develop appropriate intervention plans
- Demonstrate an understanding of legislation and government prescribed procedures, regulations and standards relating to JF&CS programs
- Liaise with an interdisciplinary team to provide support services in line with the case management plan
- Develop referral relationships within the health, education, legal and social and human service systems
- Facilitate coordination of service which includes the provision of information, advocacy and referral to both agency and outside resources
- Assist clients with completion of government forms
- Provide coverage for other workers as required
- Provide ongoing emotional support to clients
