Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
Provide quality customer centric case management services across a number of Nominal Insurer and Treasury Managed Fund portfolios for injured workers to receive an appropriate level of care and treatment to enable injured workers to reach their maximum potential in terms of return to work and quality of life.
DUTIES
It’s an exciting time at icare where no two days are the same; as a Case Manager you will:
- Understand and interpret requirements for workers insurance claims across various legislations to ensure optimum claim outcomes that support workers and the viability of several schemes and agencies.
- Manage the claim life cycle from early intervention through to tail and closure, including liability determination, determination of weekly and medical benefits, assessment of work capacity and after-claim support services.
- Manage claims of varying complexity, including but not limited to complex physical injury, psychological injury and complex customer behaviours, firefighter cancer claims, serious injury and workers with highest needs, work injury damages, industrial deafness and fatalities.
- Manage customer expectations, proactively and make decisions and determinations that enable quality outcomes for claimants, and which are within timeframes and legislated requirements.
- Develop timely and effective injury management plans which enable provision of quality, cost-effective treatment, care and return to work services
- Provide advice and prepare written reports/submissions/briefings and other forms of written advice in final form for senior managers and other stakeholders on claims matters, including those subject to litigation
- Keep up to date with relevant legislation, injury management initiatives and policies / procedures relevant to the functions of the business unit.
