How you make a difference:
As a Case Manager, you will be responsible for providing direct and indirect mental health case management services to inmates of the detention center(s) where you are assigned. Your duties will include assessing and developing care plans, coordinating mental health services, and providing ongoing support and guidance to inmates in need. You will work closely with a team of mental health professionals to ensure that inmates receive the care and resources they need to manage their mental health conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Mental Health Coordinator in managing mental and behavioral health services at the facility, coordinating with security, medical, and administration.
  • Conduct mental health and educational groups and provide routine follow-up and wellness checks for inmates receiving mental health services.
  • Ensure proper documentation and active involvement in treatment team meetings, filing services appropriately in medical records.
  • Coordinate transfers to hospitals and assist with data collection and entry for mental health visits, preparing required statistics.
  • Network with staff and protect inmate confidentiality and patient rights, adhering to HIPAA regulations and facility policies.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Master’s Degree in Mental Health or currently enrolled in a Master’s Program preferred.

Experience

  • Two (2) years experience in Mental Health, preferably in a corrections environment.

Licenses/Certifications

  • Possess and maintains current CPR certification.
