Description:

CAN YOU PRIORITISE YOUR WORKLOAD EFFECTIVELY, OPERATE WITH INTEGRITY AND DELIVER A HIGH STANDARD OF ACCURATE WORK? ARE YOU AVAILABLE AT SHORT NOTICE TO JOIN US ON A FIXED TERM CONTRACT FOR 6 MONTHS?
We are looking for a Casting Assistant for 6 months to provide administration support to the casting of all RSC productions and help to facilitate the smooth running of the department.
Reporting to the Head of Casting, key responsibilities will include (see the job description and person specification for the comprehensive list):
- Checking actors’ availability with agents.
- Setting up and collating information for auditions including booking audition rooms.
- Attending press nights, drama school showcases, understudy runs and UK theatre productions.
- Creating and issuing press night invitations and booking theatre tickets, travel and accommodation for the team.
- Producing and distributing contracts, contract letters and casting memos relating to the employment of actors.
- Managing and processing expense claims, reconciling credit cards and invoices.
To be suitable for this role, you must have:
- Previous experience of administrative work in casting, production or within a talent agency.
- An interest in and knowledge of actors and theatre.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Tact, discretion, diplomacy, and patience.
- The ability to work on your own initiative and within a team, whilst being organised and able to prioritise effectively.
Based within a fast-paced environment, you will be joining a small, efficient, and capable team whose primary responsibility is to cast all RSC productions, workshops, and events. You will work with a wide variety of people both internally and externally, in London and in Stratford-upon-Avon, therefore we are looking for someone who is collaborative, adaptable, and supportive of developing positive working relationships.
This role is a full-time, fixed term contract for 6 months and is based in London with options for flexible and hybrid working. Due to the nature of our work, there will be occasional evening and weekend working which will involve travel to support press nights in Stratford-upon-Avon.
