JOB SUMMARY:

Searchlight is looking for a phenomenal Casting Assistant to join the Searchlight team. If you are passionate, interested in learning, and meet the basic qualifications, please apply!

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 1 year experience as a Casting Assistant or with a Casting Company or Studio In-House team and interest in a career in casting
    The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $57,900.00 to $77,500.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered

Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily administrative support for the SVP of Searchlight Feature Casting
  • Manage calendar, handle phones, and prepare meeting materials
  • Complete expense reports and keep detailed records
  • Coordinate domestic and international travel
  • Coordinate all internal meetings
  • Create and maintain project contacts
  • Track talent and materials from submissions and general meetings
  • Check actor availabilities by corresponding with talent representatives
  • Create and maintain Master Lists, Project Lists, Mosaics and Casting Grids
  • Continuous update of casting database and troubleshooting of any technological issues
  • Assist SVP with hiring casting teams by liaising with other departments such as Casting Administration, Finance, Production, Legal, and Studio Technology
  • Liaise with legal on any relevant issues that arise during the casting process
  • Help implement evolving protocols and procedures as well as communicate these to casting teams
  • Work with casting teams to ensure they submit necessary documents throughout the casting process
  • Help facilitate the internal casting process by assisting with scheduling sessions, self-tape appointments, running camera if needed, troubleshooting equipment, and uploading tapes
  • Create session sheets, sides, status lists, and flyers for internal casting
  • Assist with outreach for internal casting, if necessary
  • Representing the department in a professional manner
  • Supporting and collaborating on departmental ad hoc projects, as needed
  • Reading and breaking down scripts
  • Liaise and manage communications with filmmakers, creatives, production teams, and Studio partners
