HE KŌRERO MŌU: ABOUT YOU
We are looking for people who are strong swimmers, dedicated to helping others. To work as a pool lifeguard in New Zealand, you will need to hold a Pool Lifeguard Practising Certificate (PLPC).
The first step in becoming a lifeguard for Auckland Council is to be able to pass this swim test. Please only apply for this position if you feel you can:
- Swim 200m in under 6 minutes.
- Swim 25m sidestroke.
- Swim 50m breaststroke.
- Retrieve an object from the bottom of the pool.
- Tread water for 5 minutes
HE KŌRERO MŌU: ABOUT YOU
We are looking for people of all ages who are strong swimmers, with flexibility to work multiple days.
Ideally, you will have a current PLPC Certification – we can help you obtain this through training if you don’t currently have this.
To become a lifeguard, you’ll need to hold a Pool Lifeguard Practising Certificate and a First Aid certificate. Don’t worry, if you’re a suitable candidate, we’ll provide you with the necessary training at no cost. Training dates will be discussed once successful applicant is hired
In addition to your swimming skills, we’re looking for individuals with proven administration and communication skills, a track record of providing outstanding customer service, and excellent maturity and reliability.
Responsibilities:
- Providing a safe environment through proactive supervision and positive interaction with customers.
- Educating and enforcing pool rules.
- Responding to any First Aid emergencies.
- Ensuring our pool and the surrounding areas are always clean
