Description:
Clinical Practice Works in partnership with individuals, families and carers, using a range of assessment methods as appropriate (e.g. history-taking, holistic assessment, identifying risk factors, mental health assessments, requesting, undertaking and/or interpreting diagnostic tests and conducting health needs assessments). Support and enable patients and carers to make informed decision relating to their treatment and management, escalate concerns within nursing/ professional structures as required. Professionalism & Integrity Promote an ethos of joint working, collaboration and mutual respect amongst all members of staff.
Working with others, diffuse challenging behaviour, ensuring that the situation is managed in a sensitive and professional manner. Communication Build partnerships and therapeutic relationships through safe, effective and non-discriminatory communication taking account of difference, capability and needs of individuals. Participate in discussions about patients care and ward/departmental issues at hand over meetings. Quality & Safety In line with the trusts Incident Reporting system, report any accidents, incidents, near misses and defects to the registered nurse, remove any hazards which could potentially cause injury to staff, patients or visitors.
Facilitation and Learning, Developing Self and Others Develop own teaching skills and participate in the staff/student education programmes that develop competence and performance. Contribute to departmental educational sessions, supporting a learning and reflective culture. Research & Evidence Identify service improvement initiatives which positively impacts on the quality, safety and or experience of our patients. Leadership, Management & Team work Act as a clinical role model and demonstrate specialist knowledge and high standards of clinical practice
