We are currently recruiting for an Catastrophe Modelling Analyst to join our established and experienced Pricing team here at RSA on a hybrid basis.
Your role
As our Catastrophe Modelling Analyst you will be responsible for collecting, preparing, and assessing data foruse in catastrophe exposure examination. In your role you will be expected to use SQL server management studio, catastrophe modelling software and mapping tools to assist in evaluating corporate risk levels.
You will be participating in the quarterly catastrophe model evaluation of the UK&I Property portfolio. As well as supporting the development of reports and exhibits to communicate current catastrophe risk levels to business leaders.
As well as this you will also assist in the reporting of catastrophe loss estimates and exposure data externally torating agencies, regulatory authorities (e.g. - PRA) and other external entities. Additionally, you will also be supporting Cat Modelling needs for Exposure Management targets such as internal RDS process.
About you
To be successful in this role you will need to have programming skills, particularly in SQL but SAS, R, or Python
experience is also desirable. You will also have some catastrophe modelling experience in RMS, Verisk (AIR) or JBA model software.
As well as this, having knowledge in property insurance with some knowledge of static risk would be beneficial.
As would having an understanding of reinsurance and ability to translate reinsurance structures into code.
Good communication skills will be needed for this role, as you will be liaising with business leaders across RSA.
You will also need the ability to balance multiple priorities whilst keep focus on executing on top priorities based
on discussions with your manager.
