Description:

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Demonstrated ability working in a fast paced, preferably retail environment and able to manage large volumes of work and prioritise competing deadlines.
  • Proficient or ability to learn Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office as well as internal systems.
  • Previous administrative or data entry experience and basic understanding of retail arithmetic
  • Effective and collaborative communication skills
  • Problem solving, ability to prioritise conflicting workload
  • Retail store experience and/or Marketing / Merchandise related degree is preferred, but not essential

Responsibilities:

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Category Assistant in Toys to Support the Category Buyer in building and trading the category to deliver the strategy, vision and financial KPI’s. Provide assistance in managing vendors/suppliers to deliver products aligned to Target POV, style and quality. Responsible for pricing & promotional execution, and adherence to the merchandise critical path.

OTHER KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Responsible for integrity of product data through the product lifecycle

  • Execute pricing and promotion events
  • Responsible for marketing administration and sample management, including cross-functional collaboration with the GTM Manager
  • Positive and collaborative supplier liaison, including initial vendor set-up
  • Support in managing the end-to-end process to ensure suppliers meet critical path deadlines
  • General administrative support to the business group as required
  • Use of all Target Merchandise Systems relevant to the role
  • Develop an understanding of the Target customer and position in market
  • Support the Category Buyer in the development of go to market plans and market selection.
  • Actively involved in review of weekly sales analysis, quarterly hindsight’s and seasonal strategy analysis to define required actions
  • Work collaboratively with the Vendors & Supplier to ensure quality, safety and compliance throughout the range.
