KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Creating and developing long term plan and strategy for development of the Fragrances category.
  • Monitoring market trends and optimize portfolio accordingly.
  • Monitor stock availability vs plan and ensure that it is in line with the forecast and evolving with the set limits of the rolling forecast. Manage stock and performance vs. set KPIs.
  • Define and set category objectives.
  • Leading the category to optimize the product offer and related merchandizing.
  • Review of Brand & Category Planograms (shelving) ensure optimal assortments which deliver highest return of sales & profitability.
  • Develop and implement Fragrance calendar and ensure its proper implementation along with the new product launches, new stores and brand expansions. To ensure planning of existing, new and exclusive ranges across all Sephora Middle East stores.
  • Data analysis of category performance, ensuring strong understanding of SKU level performance by Store. Develop KPI reports to keep management up to date on the category development that includes Niche/ Newness and key pillars.
  • Maintain close coordination and communication with brands for the implementation of brand guidelines in line with the Sephora retail strategy.
  • Set the category guidelines and coach and control the team on the implementation.
  • Negotiate and implement legal agreements with existing and new brands.
  • Ensure Ecommerce platforms are properly catered to from a category level and have a clearly defined assortment in place.
  • Manage Fragrance in store animation calendar on regional level.
  • Secure and drive differentiation for the fragrance category.
  • Lead negotiation for maximum support from brands for Omnichannel activations (GWPs, samples, CRM rewards.
  • Work with brand partners to ensure strong performance via annual launch plan review, marketing support, animation planning, margin and commercial terms improvement.
  • Review destination merchandizing and planogram on quarterly basis to ensure optimal assortments which deliver highest return of sales & profitability.
  • Develop and implement Mini’s & More calendar.
  • Regular space performance review and subsequent adjustment for slow sellers and poor performing SKUs to deliver optimal productivity of the destination.
  • Initiate and establish yearly launch calendar for Sephora Favorites cross category in line with Sephora retail strategy and tone of voice.
  • Defend and maintain minimum required profitability for Sephora Favorites.
  • Define Calendar and have a dedicated E-com strategy for Sephora Favorites.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND PERSONALITY

  • The successful candidate should have a depth of insight into what moves the beauty customer (Fragrance in Particular) and how to engage with suppliers to drive excitement and quality of execution.
  • The candidate should have excellent Analytical and interpretive skills, strong communication (written and oral) presentation skills.
  • We are also looking for someone who can demonstrate strong Leadership and team management skills.

Responsibilities:

The Category Director is responsible for managing a portfolio of Brands within the Fragrance category. He/ she is in charge of defining & Amend the Category Strategy in alignment with the business requirement, tracking & monitoring brands performance to ensure optimal assortment and merchandizing in store.
