PREREQUISITES:

• Minimum 5 years of proven experience as a Buyer specialising in cheese & dairy products or in a similar procurement role within the food industry.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• In-depth knowledge of cheese & dairy products, quality standards, and industry trends.
• Ability to analyze market data and make data-driven decisions.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Understanding of food safety regulations and quality control processes.

• Identify and establish relationships with reliable cheese & dairy products suppliers.
• Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing to secure cost-effective and quality products.
• Conduct regular inspections of incoming shipments to ensure adherence to quality standards.
• Collaborate with suppliers to address quality concerns and implement corrective actions.
• Stay informed about market trends, pricing, and industry developments to make informed purchasing decisions.
• Analyze customer preferences and adjust product offerings accordingly.
• Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with the logistics team to ensure timely deliveries.
• Implement effective inventory control measures to minimize waste and optimize stock levels.
• Work closely with the finance department to manage and control budgetary aspects related to cheese & dairy products’ procurement.
• Explore opportunities for cost savings without compromising on product quality.
• Communicate effectively with suppliers to convey expectations and resolve any issues promptly.
