Description:
Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is hiring a Category Manager on a permanent basis on our Home & Building Solutions (HABS) team. This position is a hybrid opportunity and is based in Saskatoon, SK. For the right candidate we will consider other remote locations based across Western Canada.

WHO YOU ARE:
You are looking for a career in Category Management, Sales & Marketing and:
- Have 6-9 years of relatively progressively responsible experience in consumer wholesale/retail, with preference for marketing, buying, or customer service.
- Have a bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered).
- Have experience in Home and Building solutions is an asset.
Responsibilities:
- Develop category strategy (short to long-term) and execution plans to ensure products and programs are marketed to consumers based on the needs of a changing consumer and marketplace.
- Understand, analyze, and apply CRS / industry data to compare pricing, product, and programs to ensure we are competitive in the industry. Use this data to create and execute strategic plans resulting in category growth aligning with department objectives.
- Manage Business Categories to achieve targeted budgets for sales, margins, inventories, turns and service levels.
- Negotiate short to mid-term complex contracts and source new or existing products and programs either independently or through system buying groups to meet the needs of our consumer. Identify emerging trends, opportunities and challenges that will affect business going forward.
- Travel is approximately 4-6 weeks a year annually.

The Team: You will work closely with Category Management Specialists, Shared Services team (Procurement, marketing & administrative), Vendors, local Co-ops and zone team members. The position will have 1 direct report, and will report into the Senior Manager, B2C. This team strives to cultivate a culture of collaboration, autonomy, results.
