JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Category Manager for MRO & Capital is responsible for developing and implementing global category strategies for Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) and Capital expenditures. This role will drive cost savings, improve supplier performance, and ensure the availability of critical materials and services to support Delrin® operations and Capital projects in the US, Europe, and the Asia Pacific region. The Category Manager will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, project teams, and suppliers to optimize procurement processes and achieve business objectives.

Responsibilities:

Category Management MRO & Capital

  • Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies for MRO and Capital categories to optimize cost, quality, and service levels.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across operations, engineering, and maintenance, to understand requirements and develop category plans.
  • Communicate category strategies, initiatives, and performance updates to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks within the categories.
  • Manage supplier relationships, supply risk management and cost management of suppliers within the MRO & Capital categories.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives through effective negotiation, supplier consolidation, and process improvements.
  • Analyze total costs, assist business functions with ROI analysis, price and rate benchmarking and negotiate favorable business terms to leverage Delrin’s purchasing power.
  • Monitor and track cost savings, performance metrics, and KPIs to measure the success of category strategies.
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks through proactive supplier evaluation, contingency planning, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for process improvements and innovation.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement efficiency, effectiveness, and value delivery.
  • Negotiate and manage the maintenance of agreements with suppliers between Delrin and the supply base.
  • Conduct RFP/RFQs and lead cross functional teams through the evaluation and selection process in accordance with company goals and policies.
  • Review purchase requests for completeness and compliance with company requirements; negotiates with suppliers and approves purchases within their authorized amounts or size.
  • Conduct supplier audits and performance reviews to maintain high-quality standards and mitigate risks associated with supplier non-compliance.
  • Develop and maintain agreement templates.
