We have an amazing opportunity for a Catering Assistant to join our catering team at our Ivetsey Bank Hospital in Wheaton Aston, Stafford. As a catering assistant you will be part of a friendly and dedicated team of Chefs and Kitchen Assistants lead by our Head Chef. The team provides nutritious and enticing meals for up to 36 young people some of which could be being supported to overcome an eating disorder. Ensuring mealtimes are an enjoyable part of the day, engaging our young people in the dining experience to help ensure our young people feel valued as individuals.
Ivetsey Bank Hospital is a Tier 4 Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMHS) hospital for young people aged 12-18. We specialise in supporting young people with severe or complex mental health conditions who need intensive inpatient treatment. We are dedicated to providing caring, supportive, recovery-focused treatment and we achieve this by working together with our young people, their families and other professionals. Our facilities include, Ofsted registered on-site school, High intensity suite, Occupational therapy kitchen, Gym, Outdoor sports area, including a basketball court, Three cabins for therapy, keep fit and a multi-faith cabin.
Responsibilities:
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
- A positive attitude and a desire to deliver the best possible service to our young people
- Work closely with the catering team ensuring a high quality food service for our young people and staff
- Ensure any special dietary instructions are correctly followed
- Assisting in the assembly and distribution of patient meals where required ensuring that temperatures of food are monitored and recorded
- Operation of the dishwashing machine as required
- Ensure all equipment used in the kitchen and dining room is clean and hygienic
- Assist the Chef in preparing for special functions as required
- Able to communicate effectively at all levels
