Catering Assistant

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Certificate II or III in Catering Operations or similar
• Proven knowledge of Food Safety Standards
• Knowledge of safe and correct food handling, preparation and storage
• Cook / Chef Experience (highly desirable)
• Aged Care Experience (highly desirable)
• Knowledge and experience using commercial kitchen equipment
• A sensitive and empathetic approach to residents and visitors
• Previous experience in a food handling role and/or cafe service
• Sound commitment to providing exceptional customer service
• Effective time management skills.
• A current National Police Clearance (or willingness to apply)
• Covid and seasonal influenza vaccination status to be provided

DUTIES

• Food preparation
• Ensure written protocols are followed for special dietary needs
• Ensure the work environment is clean and safe and resident’s needs are met
• Promote a harmonious work environment
• Ensure legislative requirements governing food services are met
• Adhere to infection control, manual handling, WHS procedures
• Maintain knowledge of food safety requirements
• Provide friendly and enthusiastic customer service

As a passionate and experienced Catering Assistant, you will work as a member of our wider kitchen team at our Croydon Park site. You will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of catering and presentation whilst handling, preparing and storing food, in addition to associated cleaning tasks. You will demonstrate knowledge of and compliance with food safety standards.

• Ideal candidates for our residential home will have a background in or familiarity with Greek cuisine
