Description:

We are looking for a Catering Services Manager to work on our Sutton site primarily. Work will involve overseeing staff and HACCP procedures in all catering areas including on our ward areas, the restaurant & cafe, functions ensuring we are maintaining a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness throughout all areas of the work place. Please refer to the job descriptions for further details of this post. This position may include working weekends and a variety of shifts both morning and evening, working 5 days out of 7, as required.
It is essential to have worked in a catering environment previously , have good customer care, organisational skills and experience of working as part of a team. It would also be beneficial if you have worked in a Hospital/Care setting previously and/or in a similar role.
You will need to be a reliable, flexible member of staff showing initiative and commitment to providing a safe, hygienic environment in all areas.

To provide the highest level of catering service possible for patients, visitors and staff, commensurate with financial considerations. Ensuring that food for staff, patients, and visitors is of the highest possible standard in the Restaurant, NHS Wards, Private Wards, commensurate with financial constraints.
To ensure that perishable and non-perishable items are ordered, received, stored and dispatched in accordance with the stores operational procedures, time constraints and department needs.
To ensure “Best Value” is achieved at all times in line with Trust and NHS financial guidelines.
To liaise with the Head Chef/Catering Team ensuring that the correct procedures are being followed regarding decanting and issue of stock.

Manage all operational aspects of the catering service in ward areas, the children’s unit (Sutton) and private patient areas on a day to day basis including the distribution of all foodstuffs produced and provided.
Implement and review with the other Managers and supervisors the management control systems for the service, using appropriate recognised techniques, to ensure that good practices prevail and exercises sufficient monitoring and control to ensure that the HACCP plan is working and adhered to.
Ensure appropriate recruitment and selection of staff and the compilation of cost effective staff rotas.
Implement and review with the Senior Catering Services Managers, Head of catering, the HACCP management control systems for all the catering services. Use the appropriate recognised techniques to update, communicate and record any amendments to the HACCP plans. Ensure that all documentation is updated annually as a minimum. Ensure audits are carried out with Head of Catering
