Responsibilities:

DETAILS OF THE ROLE AND HOW IT FITS INTO THE TEAM

This role sits within the TDI COO team in Group COO, supporting the Cash Management function within CIO Corporate Bank.
Group COO acts as the bridge between the bank’s businesses and infrastructure functions to help deliver the efficiency, control and transformation goals of the bank. By working towards an agreed operating model for the entire bank, Group COO will enable business and help the bank reinvest into further growth opportunities.
Cash Management Technology is a global team of technology specialists, spread across multiple financial centers and technology centres. We have a strong focus on promoting technical excellence - our engineers work at the forefront of financial services innovation using cutting-edge technologies in partnership with the Cash Management Business. The key pillars in Cash Management Technology include the following Domains: Branch Technology; Client Access & Services; Liquidity, Cash Data & Surveillance; Payments; Transformation & Governance. Cash Management is at the heart of the Treasurer’s needs and with this backdrop, we are at the center of DB’s Global Hausbank Strategy with a current footprint across 35 countries. As a major driver of the Strategy, Cash Management strives to offer our global clients the solutions that they need in the locations that the clients need us in.
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is responsible for driving the day-to-day operations of the Cash Management Technology organisation, partnering with the Cash Management Technology CIO and Cash Management Product Head to develop and execute the agreed functional strategy. They oversee the development and deployment of financials budget, manage both internal and external technology relationships, address emerging delivery challenges, provide thought leadership, and enable collaboration for and beyond the organizational boundaries.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategy and organisation steering: Ensuring the function supports the wider TDI strategy; driving the organizational set-up and operating model to deliver the functional mandate; ensuring effective functional governance is in place;
  • Cost management: Manage cost and FTE, enforcing cost controls while driving efficiencies & resource strategy; actively managing efficiency and capacity KPIs and drivers; leading monthly & annual forecast and planning processes;
  • People management: Facilitate execution of the TDI people strategy within the function; drive functional adoption of a target workforce structure; interface to HR to steer hiring, talent management, DE&I, succession and promotion processes; manage the compensation processes;
  • Business management: Manage business management topics including real estate and business continuity management;
  • Change engagement: Identify and help set change priorities for the function, provide expertise into the change execution team, ensure the benefits of change are realised;
  • Manage technology specific topics, including change the bank (CTB) investment and execution governance topics; software capitalization and balance sheet management.
