Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Lead Level 4 in Mental Health to join our Whole Family Team (WFT). This pivotal role involves leading and supervising a team of clinicians providing specialist interventions for families facing challenges related to parental mental health, drug and alcohol issues, and domestic violence. WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

The Clinical Lead – Mental Health in the Whole Family Team (WFT) is responsible for the leadership and supervision of clinicians providing specialist interventions for families with parental Mental Health and Drug and Alcohol. The team works towards the recovery and ongoing safety and wellbeing of families and their children involved with the child protection system.
WFT work with families where Risk of Significant Harm (ROSH) has been identified due to the presence of parental mental health and/or drug and alcohol, domestic violence. The Clinical Lead with extensive specialist knowledge and demonstrating advanced clinical reasoning provides a service of complex nature in conjunction with ongoing consultative support and collaborative interventions with staff, management and agency partners. The position will manage a 0.5 FTE equivalent clinical load commensurate with other duties.
This position has been created as part of the CCLHD’s response to community disaster and will be based across the mental health outpatient’s clinic and the CCLHD Safe Haven services..
The primary responsibility of the position will be to support individuals, families and communities coping with the acute aftermath of traumatic events and community disaster. The role will work closely with external agencies to ensure coordinated community supports are provided to people who are impacted by disaster events.
This role will also involve the provision of high quality mental health services and suicide support to a broad group of clients attending the mental health outpatient`s clinic and Safe Havens.
The position will supervise, mentor and support the team to provide specialist interventions to ensure families receive comprehensive care in close collaboration with Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) as well as other health services, relevant government and non-government agencies. There is a focus on strengthening parenting capacity so children can safely remain with their family.
They work closely with their managers and colleagues within VAN Services, Mental Health and more broadly across the health service to facilitate recovery, integrated and trauma informed care that is holistic and seamless. They actively support their team to be innovative, culturally safe and evidence based to develop and deliver effective and sound interventions that operationalise the NSW Health Prevention and Response to Violence Abuse and Neglect (PARVAN) Framework, relevant Service Standards, Guidelines and Policy and Procedures.
