Description:
As part of Muller UK and Ireland group, Muller Milk and Ingredients is a fresh milk, cream and butter business with a network of dairies servicing customers throughout the country; with rapid and continued organic growth and confirmation of substantial investments in upgrading our network of dairies in Britain, it is an exciting time to join us. With this in mind, we are currently looking for a Central Maintenance Excellence & Strategy Lead to deploy & embed Muller Excellence ways of working across our Engineering Function, enabling the business to hit our performance goals across the balanced agenda of Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, People & ESG.
KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Demonstrable knowledge of complex fast moving clean environments (24/7 short life products)
- Full working knowledge of lean tools and techniques
- Strong experience in the delivery and implementation of Maintenance Excellence strategy within FMCG
- Proven experience in leading or supporting a site through an Operational Excellence cultural journey
- Full knowledge of OEE and evidence of how you have improved this in a previous role
- Ability to lead horizontally (coach peer level)
- Must show evidence of leading culture change within a complex manufacturing operation
- Capability to develop a high performance and service oriented culture within the team
- Strong technical bias and has experience in standardising processes and practices
Responsibilities:
- Utilising the Maintenance Excellence Roadmap as a foundation work with the site teams to deliver best in class performance
- Develop the business unit engineering community in their understanding of maintenance practices and processes to deliver best in class performance
- Work with our Site Engineering teams to develop our maintenance excellence roadmap
- Own and drive the annual maintenance planning cycle and adherence
- Own the governance of asset performance through management of the PM and reliability programme
- Review service support strategy and ensure contracts are in place for those out-sourced
- Support the project management process ensuring early equipment management is embedded and spares, training and PM’s are in place before go live
- Undertake development needs analysis across the engineering community and develop a skills strategy to close the gaps
- Support the training of site engineers and operational teams in troubleshooting and fault diagnosis (RCA, 5Y)
- Minimise the need of 3rd party support through the development of the engineering teams and enabling cross site agility
- Act as a central coach to our Engineering Managers & Maintenance Excellence Managers across MMI
- Use the roadmap, to expose gaps and best practice and design, define key tactical strategies to standardise across the MMI network
- Create and lead the standardisation of key tools and processes creating stability and aligned approach with the supporting behaviours
- Positively influence and challenge individuals and systems that compromise Muller values
- Lead and Inspire the Site Engineering Managers & there teams to build a culture of excellence in every area of our framework
- Actively find ways to surface the good news stories, best practice and break through cultural approaches during our roadmap journey
