YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

To succeed in this role, you will be able to demonstrate successful and inspirational business leadership and commercial acumen, underpinned with strong strategic and business planning experience. You will have experience and affinity with the seafood industry or primary sector and understand industry specific needs, member and stakeholder expectations and the importance of Māori interests in the seafood industry.
You will have a natural ability to establish and maintain trusted and mutually beneficial relationships with the industry and have the skills to successfully communicate with a variety of stakeholder groups and interests in furthering the benefits of the seafood industry.
You will be experienced at business planning and implementation, creative problem solving, innovative and continue to build capability within the organisation while continuously seeking to add value and lift the profile of the sector.

Located in Wellington, and reporting to the Board, you will provide leadership, vision and strategic direction to Seafood New Zealand and the wider sector in support of its organisational objectives. This role will lead the development and implementation of business plans and strategies, drive industry activities and initiatives, and effectively engage with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders in the support of members’ interests.
